Come and build your own yurt, trapper's cabin or teepee!
Use it when you want. Loan, rent or lease it to another member or member organization when you're not there. We can help arrange delivery and construction with local manufacturers
Whether you are an adventurer, conservationist, educator or concerned philanthropist, we invite you to explore our wilderness for free! (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED). Or join our organization and help build the community. WNE members share a common vision; the need to preserve natural, open space. The members of WNE believe that we can preserve and enjoy our New England wilderness without compromising existing ecosystems.

Bring your outings, competitions, fundraising and social events to the wilderness!
WNE's primary objective is to preserve open wilderness space.
We feel that preserving this space for "nature to flourish" is a key component to a healthy New England environment. Equally important is providing limited and well-managed recreational opportunities. We feel that wilderness recreation is a key component to a healthy human "spirit". Anyone who has experienced the sights, sounds and smells of wilderness can attest to its wonder.
Have you ever seen the stars on a cool, clear evening without the distraction of artificial light?
Have you ever smelled a stand of fir trees after a light rain?
Have you ever heard the wing-beat of a redtailed hawk in flight 60 meters away?
Have you ever observed moose "playing tag" on the shore of a beaver pond at dusk?
Have you ever experienced large, fluffy snowflakes in the absolute silence of a windless mid-winter snow storm?
Time spent in the wilderness is amazing!

Three ways (opportunities) for you to enjoy WNE
WNE opportunity #1; Explore For FREE !
Enjoy the outdoors! Our current properties provide varied topography, natural ecosystems and trails! From limited hunting/fishing and motorsport access opportunities to dedicated wilderness “sanctuaries” where the philosopher within you can create/reflect quietly, free from outside interruption (Reservations Required!). WNE has a place for you!
WNE opportunity #2; Income!
Though our primary focus is preserving open space, WNE members realize that many “green” economic opportunities can be derived from our unique settings. Whether you are a teacher, researcher, “green” engineer/product developer or have a skill that provides value to our members and mission, consider exploring the possibilities with us!
WNE opportunity #3; Support!
Sometimes, you participate in a program like this simply because the vision “feels right”. Through its memberships, WNE provides real, tangible results. If you happen to agree with our mission and have a desire to join our efforts, either by volunteering or providing “economic” support (partnerships, sponsorships, grants or donations), please contact us with your ideas!
