WNE Berlin/Gorham, NH

The Berlin/Gorham property provides a very diverse ecology, interesting geology and shares nearly one mile of border with the 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest. Another section of the property has direct access to the newly created 7,000 acre Jericho/Berlin ATV Park.

WNE Conway, NH

While the Conway property is smaller and less ecologically diverse than the Berlin/Gorham property, it provides limited access to Conway Lake and forested space for you and nature’s critters.

Except for "mud season",
WNE properties are available for use year round

The climate in New England can be divided into four distinct seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Some native New Engladers like to include a fifth "mud season" that falls between winter and spring.

Mud season "happens" sometime between March and May and can last from one to several weeks, depending upon lattitude, altitude and weather conditions. Mud season occurs when the ice, frozen in the top-most layers of the earth, melts and makes the ground very soft and "muddy".

          WNE is true wilderness !

There are no modern accomodations... there may or may not be good cell phone reception, the only running water is in the streams and brooks, the only electricity is stored in your batteries and the only place to poop is where the bears go (not entirely true... there are several composting toilets located in and around cabins, lean-tos and tent platforms) !

“Generally speaking, a howling wilderness does not howl: it is the imagination of the traveler that does the howling.”

[Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), U.S. philosopher, author, naturalist. "The Allegash and East Branch" (1864) in The Maine Woods (1864), in The Writings of Henry David Thoreau, vol. 3, p. 242, Houghton Mifflin (1906).]
